If you’re paranoid about people spying on your phone activity, it’s a very reasonable concern. Unfortunately, privacy is becoming more of an issue and it is possible that people could look at what’s on your phone.
It’s not a surprise that hackers & intruders can access search history, messages, photos & videos, contacts, financial information, and more. Of course, the chances of that happening are slim but hacking and theft could happen to anyone.
To prevent smartphone hacking from happening to you, here are a few ways to prevent hacking and snooping. Please keep in mind these tips will not completely prevent someone from hacking into your phone, however, you will lower your chances of theft significantly:
Apply a screen shield to your smartphone or device! If you’re frequently out and about and taking public transportation, for example, it’s easy for anyone within a few feet from you to glance over their shoulder and watch what you’re doing. This is one of the easiest, quickest fixes.
Perhaps the easiest thing you can do to protect your device, is to keep tabs of your passwords. It’s best practice to use many different long and more complicated passwords. You can do this by utilising an Android password manager. Most apps allow you to save tens or even hundreds of passwords. Not to mention, a lot of apps come with the functionality of helping you create brand new heavy-duty passwords. By creating long and hard to crack passwords and changing them every so often, you lessen your chances of getting hacked.
Working out of a coffee shop or in the park is a great change of pace. However, you should also be wary of who else is on that publicly available network. Consider using a hotspot or data instead of connecting to an unsecure open network.
